We are applying for 3-4 students that will be responsible or creating a safe, fun and positive learning environment while leading , team work and confidence. Instructors will lead sport specific drills, skill development sessions and group activities while promoting sportsmanship, respect. They will work closely with the Camp leader, other instructors, parents to ensure each camp participant has a memorable experience. Each camp will have a different theme and will start June 29th and go until August 21st. Each instructor will be taking their first aid training before the summer starts. There is nothing offered like this in our community and will be a great addition for kids this summer.

The Interpretive Guide welcomes visitors to both the Welcome Centre/Gift Shop and the Lighthouse. These two buildings are located at either end of a 1,000’ walking path, necessitating one interpretive guide at each location (50% hours at each location). At the lighthouse, the guide maintains visitor counts, accepts donations, and conducts guided tours while answering questions and providing additional information about the lighthouse, displays, the lantern room, and the keepers who have maintained the light. They also provide information about the island’s fisheries, marine life, and the seabirds seen regularly from the peninsula. Within the Welcome Centre/Gift Shop, they maintain visitor counts, assist with parking and directions to the lighthouse, sell merchandise, and provide information as needed. A few hours each week are devoted to light cleaning duties and lawn mowing. Daily visitor counts, sales and donation summaries, bank deposits, and reconciliations are completed.

Art Camp Instructor. In June, the Art Camp Instructor is responsible for planning the curriculum, ordering supplies, organising the studio and preparing approximately 8 art camps for children and youth. In July and August the instructor will deliver weekly art camps for up to eight children or youth per camp, at the River Art Centre in Florenceville-Bristol New Brunswick. Mentoring, support and art enrichment opportunities are offered by art professionals and some administrative, reception responsibilities are required of the Instructor at various times during the summer. Applicants must enjoy children, be self directed, have effective communication, leadership and organizational skills as well as a willingness to learn. The position is ideal for students interested in visual art, who are currently enrolled in post-secondary Education degree , Early Childhood or Visual Art programs.
