These two buildings are located at either end of a 1,000’ walking path, necessitating one interpretive guide at each location (50% hours at each location). At the lighthouse, the guide maintains visitor counts, accepts donations, and conducts guided tours while answering questions and providing additional information about the lighthouse, displays, the lantern room, and the keepers who have maintained the light. They also provide information about the island’s fisheries, marine life, and the seabirds seen regularly from the peninsula. A few hours each week are devoted to light cleaning duties and lawn mowing. Daily visitor counts, sales and donation summaries, bank deposits, and reconciliations are completed.
