The selected candidate will assist with landscaping within the Town jurisdiction including cutting grass, preparing flower beds, planting flowers, weeding and other gardening duties.

The incumbent will also assist with the seasonal preparation and general maintenance of sports fields including patching and other repairs, painting lines, removal of refuse, patching and other repairs.

Parks and Works Maintenance Assistants will assist with the maintenance and further development of all municipal parks, walking paths, and downtown Salisbury beautification. This will include lawn mowing, flower and shrub care, etc. They will also assist with maintenance, mowing, and inspections of the wastewater collection and treatment facility, as well as other duties as required by Department of infrastructure and Public Works, Department of Recreation and Wellness, and Town Administration.

Head Lifeguard at Salisbury Lions Pool * supervises daily pool operations and all staff, incl class scheduling, incident reports & paperwork for staff hours. HL also oversees daily public outreach (posting pool info on social media, eg. water temps, activities, closures) in collaboration with the Dept of Recreation & Wellness and liaising with the Infrastructure & Public Works Dept for pool maintenance (eg. pool chemical levels, facility maintenance). HL will also ensure swimmer safety, give swim lessons and be direct on-site supervisor for all Lifeguards. Outside the Pool open season, HL will assist with Swim Lesson Registrations and prep for opening of the Pool.
* Located at Salisbury Lions Club, the outdoor pool is managed by the Town of Salisbury through a long-term lease with the Lions Club. HL must have at least 2 years of experience as a Lifeguard and Swim Instructor and must have National Lifeguard Course, Instructor Course and CPR/First-Aid as pre-conditions of employment.

This position will oversee and assist in the supervision of the Department of Infrastructure and Public Works’ Parks and Works Maintenance Assistants. This will include driving to different town locations, assisting with managing the daily duties of the students, etc. In collaboration with the team of Parks and Works Maintenance Assistants, this employee will assist with the maintenance and further development of all municipal parks, walking paths, and downtown Salisbury beautification.
