The Growing Place is a community garden / greenhouse located in Crescent Valley, Saint John. It is operated by the Crescent Valley Resource Centre (CVRC). The Community Garden Assistant will provide necessary assistance to the CVRC staff. This will include maintaining garden plots and common spaces, harvesting produce for the food bank, organizing the tool shed, leading recreational activities for children in the garden & the centre, participating in garden workshops, and completing other garden and office activities and tasks as necessary.
Additionally:
Support volunteers in garden maintenance tasks (planting, watering, harvesting, composting, etc.)
Run weekly activities in the garden for neighbourhood children
Assist with various tasks as needed, including shopping for supplies, cooking, & caring for monarch butterflies.
Support maintaining garden records.
Assist with other activities & events in the garden & resource centre for adults, seniors, & youth. $17.00 / hr 35 hrs./ week
