The Conservation Assistant will plan and execute public engagement events that will connect people to nature, foster a legacy of stewardship, and educate participants about the importance of protecting habitats in New Brunswick. Events will include outdoor nature walks and beachfront exploration activities, taking place at provincial and local parks, summer camps, and community markets. The staff will also create online outreach materials, including social media posts, graphics, and blogs.

Additionally, the employee will also be responsible for administrative tasks, including creating event plans and reports, and filing expense claims and budgets.

Staff will learn basic leadership skills in organizing outdoor activities, engaging children and families in nature-oriented activities, and event promotion. The Employee will also learn how to translate scientific information into communications materials for the general public.

French will be required when working with the public.
