Summer Student — Gallery Attendant - Sales & Service Representative
The Summer Student will welcome gallery visitors and provide information about exhibitions, membership and programs. Responsibilities include accurately recording sales and inventory (manual and digital), assisting with installation and de-installation of artwork, packaging items for safe transport, and maintaining a clean, safe gallery environment. The student will support the BAS Board as needed and must be flexible with hours, including attendance at off site exhibitions and events.

Under project manager supervision, as part of a cloud-based team, the Web editor will engage the following range of tasks in multiple languages:

7) Develop & embed videos with subtitles into websites
8) Develop/Translate Google Classroom modules
As this requires cloud-based teamwork, the editor will need to succeed in remote work modality, requiring documenting work on time sheets, using Trello, Slack, ZOOM and Google Workspace, and participating in online meetings.

Some of the duties include: ensuring the boats are secured, assisting boaters departing and returning to the marina, performing general maintenance tasks, greeting guests, and providing general security of the marina including the docks and gates. Additionally, general light sanitation and documentation may be required to ensure compliance to the marina's operational plan. This position helps students develop interpersonal skills and a methodical approach to ensuring a safe and secure facility. It will appeal to students who can work independently and also enjoy interacting with patrons and the general public. The marina operates annually from 01 June to 30 September, however, this position respects the academic calendar and educational priorities of the student.

The SEED student(s) will be involved in all fundraising activities during the summer months. This will start with a Silent Auction, collecting items that have been donated, photographing these, creating and posting online, monitoring bids, closing the auction and contacting winning bidders. The items are prepared for the winners and passed out to them. Summer BBQ's involve buying supplies, setting up and taking down the event, cooking, collecting payment and serving customers. An annual ticket sale event involves printing tickets, delivery to local vendors, collecting tickets at sale end, preparing the draw and contacting winner. All of these events involve data recording on individual spreadsheets. A semi-annual newsletter is a responsibility taken on by the students. This involves preparing articles, uploading photos and preparing delivery by email and regular mail.
