This position is 35 hours per week. The time on the job may be flexible to meet the garden need. You will help to increase food security by planting, tending, and harvesting the food bank, and community garden vegetable plots.
You will raise awareness by hosting, and encourage participation in weekly open “garden days” at both the food bk garden and community garden locations.

recording and sharing weekly on social media- information sessions about various gardening and food security topics. Where the community garden is and how to access it, household composting, plant diseases and pests- what to look for, planting and pairing tips, how to grow vegetables indoors, foraging, how to harvest and store vegetables
and sharing information on how best to prepare, eat and store products.
Some other duties may be assigned including some light administrative work, packing food hampers, painting, grocery shopping, and engaging with registered clients of the St. George and Area Food Bank.

The shop mechanic is responsible of all tasks relating to the repair workshop. While repairing and maintaining La Bikery’s bike is one of the main tasks, the mechanic will also assist members in repairing their own bikes, advise customers buying a bicycle and keep the workshop well ordered.
